I accept for review samples of wine and wine-related paraphernalia, food and pantry items, kitchen equipment, books, and other goods intended for the pleasures of the table. I also travel extensively and am available to attend trade and media events, including press trips, tastings, seminars, winery or wine region tours, competitions, and culinary travel experiences.
I publish my reviews here and elsewhere, including Serious Eats, Palate Press, Edible Communities, and other wine, food, and lifestyle publications. I also post wine reviews on Delectable, Vivino, and Instagram. My top wine articles enjoy 10,000 to 25,000+ unique readers.
Gifts, samples, and sponsored travel are always disclosed in the text or in footnotes. For wine and other goods, I also list the suggested retail price or, when not available, the average price a consumer would pay in the U.S. For goods purchased with my own funds, I list the price I paid unless it’s significantly different from the average price a reader might pay.
I make every effort to write about samples and travel experiences in a timely fashion. I prefer to let wine samples settle for at least two weeks after shipping, and also frequently need lead time to research, develop, and pitch stories to media outlets to which I’m not a regular contributor. I cannot guarantee I’ll write about every sample, and I’ll never review bottles that are obviously flawed.
