I dug these carrots and leeks about fifteen minutes ago. In another fifteen, I'll have them prepped and laid into a baking dish with chicken, lavender, and rosemary. In about an hour in a half, they'll become part of me, of us. Rejoice.

we're about to get our fall garden planted down here in Texas...I'm looking forward to leeks, beans, beets, carrots of my own.

Wow, planting a fall garden. What a concept! The only thing I plant in fall is garlic (in about three weeks) - to overwinter!
